Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) is a system for ensuring
that products are consistently produced and controlled according
to quality standards. It is designed to minimize the risks involved in
any pharmaceutical production that cannot be eliminated through
testing the final product. GMP covers all aspects of production from
the starting materials, premises, and equipment to the training and
personal hygiene of staff. Detailed written procedures are essential
for each process that could affect the quality of the finished product.
There must be systems to provide documented proof that correct
procedures are consistently followed at each step in the manufacturing
process - every time a product is made.
Meeting GMP standards is crucial to the success of any project
or plant within the Pharmaceutical Industry.
Good Manufacturing Practices are general industry guidelines
that must be applied to the manufacturing process of any
drug or food supplement, to ensure the overall safety of end clients.
Though there are many GMPs, and these differ from country to country,
they all target the same main issues: proper training of factory personnel

Decarboxylation or decarbing is the process of applying heat to
dried cannabis in order to activate cannabinoids in the plant.

Dried cannabis flower is processed through a state-of-the-art
supercritical carbon dioxide (CO2) extraction procedure that uses
only naturally occurring food grade CO2. No harsh solvents or any
other co-solvents are used. After extraction, the resulting resin is
mixed with high grade carrier oils. Nothing else is added, only cannabis
extract and the carrier oils. Each lot of finished cannabis oil is
tested to measure cannabinoid levels and quality.
NEXZEN uses a medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil for our Elixir oil products.
Our MCT oil is derived from natural sources and is very often used in foods,
pharmaceuticals, and nutritional supplements. MCT oil is highly permeable
in the human body, which will greatly aid in the absorption of CBD, THC,
and other cannabinoids.
NEXZEN uses supercritical extraction, which puts cannabis under a large
amount of pressure and exposes it to carbon dioxide (CO2) in a state that
is similar to both a liquid and gas. Active components such as THC,
CBD and terpenes are extracted.
As with any prescription medication, cannabis should be
stored in a cool, dry place away from children and pets.
